Naxen (chemical name Naproxen) is an anti-inflammatory not actually a steroid. The reason it is in this section is because it is a popular drug to be used to relieve pain and swelling from over training a specific body part, especially tendonitis or other injuries. The use of an anti-inflammatory, such as naxen, will speed up recovery time and relieve pain. Naxen was originally used to treat arthritis with dosages starting around 500 mg split up throughout the day and always taken with a meal.
