One obvious difference between Winstrol Depot and other injectables is that it is not esterified, being sold as aqueous stanozolol suspension. (It should not be called water-soluble: virtually none of it is dissolved in the water.) This means that it does not have a classical half-life, where at time x the level is Ѕ the starting level, at time 2 x the level is ј, at time 3 x the level is 1/8, etc. Instead, the microcrystals slowly dissolve, and when they have all dissolved levels of the drug then fall very rapidly.

For veterinary application, Upjohn claims that once-weekly doses supply constant levels. I am not sure if that is actually true or not — it might be true in terms of being clinically practical but not literally true. If true, then it may be that the observation of bodybuilders that frequent dosing is required has more to do with a significant dose being required, e.g. 350 mg/week, rather than an actual need for it to be injected daily. Unfortunately bodybuilders often make illogical comparisons, and will conclude that daily injections are needed, since a once a week injection of 50 mg did not do the job! Well, of course it didn’t: the dose was too low. For a future article, some urinalysis testing may be performed to come up with some more specific information on this matter, since it is of interest to many.

In some cases, women have had virilization problems with oral Winstrol at only 2 mg/day. Thus, it cannot be assumed that even a single tab per day is necessarily safe for all women concerned about maintaining their natural voice, avoiding hirsutism, etc.

Stanozolol has some unique biochemical properties which we will discuss in a later article.

Intra-muscular water based injectable

Overview:
Originally known as Winstrol, this oral or injectable steroid with a pronounced anabolic effect.

Good for:
Stanozolol does aromatize and water retention uncommon. It promotes muscle hardness and strength without a substantial increase in body mass. It is ideally suited for low calorie diets and contest preparation. The compound is very safe and has few side effects, however, the oral version can lead to some typical side effects like acne, increased sex drive, and moderate liver stress, mostly due to the fact that high dosages are sometimes used.
By itself, it does not lead to huge muscle gains, but rather lower weight but quality gains. In combination it can be very effective at good solid muscle gains. Users enjoy an increased strength without the associated increase in weight.

Bad:
Stanozolol has a pronounced anabolic effect, but the decreased androgenic effect means a reduced ability to stop muscle breakdown when compared to high androgen compounds on low calorie diets. Due to its short half life, higher dosages need to be used and this can become expensive. The oral version is very effective but scarce.

Guideline dosage is 50mg of the injectable every 2 to 3 days and around 20 to 50mg of the oral per day.

What is Stanozolol?

Stanozolol is a synthetic steroid that is derived from testosterone and has anabolic and androgenic properties. It first came on the market in 1962. Over time, the marketing and labeling of stanozolol has been altered due to FDA requirements and changes in the drug market. In 2010, it was withdrawn from the U.S. market. It is classified as a Schedule III controlled substance under federal regulation under the Anabolic Steroid Control Act of 2004 and the updated Designer Anabolic Steroid Control Act of 2014.

Stanozolol can be administered orally or intramuscularly. Some of its therapeutic uses include the treatment of aplastic anemia and hereditary angioedema. It has also been indicated as an adjunct therapy for the treatment of various other medical conditions such as vascular disorders and growth failure. Side effects of stanozolol include those commonly associated with anabolic steroids such as menstrual irregularities, acne, atrophy of the breasts in women, and impotence, testicular atrophy, prostatic hypertrophy in men. Risks of heart attacks, strokes, liver damage, and psychiatric disturbances could occur in both sexes.

The drug was first banned in sport by the International Olympic Committee and the International Amateur Athletic Federation (IAAF) in 1974. Its notable mark on sport history came in 1988, when Canadian sprinter Ben Johnson tested positive for stanozolol at the Olympic Games and was stripped of his gold medal in the 100 meters.

Stanozolol is prohibited by the World Anti-Doping Agency and included on the Prohibited List under Anabolic Agents as a substance that is prohibited at all times. Urinary metabolites of stanozolol can be detected by methods such as gas chromatography-mass spectrometry (GC-MS), and liquid chromatography tandem mass spectrometry (LC-MS/MS). Under the 2015 World Anti-Doping Code, Olympic and Paralympic athletes who test positive for stanozolol could potentially face a four-year ban from sport for an intentional violation. Four Major League Baseball (MLB) pitchers have recently tested positive for stanozolol. Each of these players has been suspended for 80 games, or one season of baseball.

Athletes are responsible for what they put in their body. Dietary supplements and other products can be mislabeled to incorrectly represent the ingredients contained therein. In the past, investigations of some nutritional supplements have shown that they contained prohibited substances, including anabolic steroids such as stanozolol. These anabolic steroids were not specifically declared by the manufacturer on the supplement product label. Multivitamin products have also shown to be cross-contaminated with anabolic steroids such as stanozolol. Consumption of cross-contaminated multivitamins could lead to inadvertent positive tests and hence athletes should be aware of the substances they are consuming at all times.
